# February 2012: Wedding exhibition in Shanghai ” QUEENS FOR A DAY “

The Alliance française invitestwo personalities to share their own vision of the theme “Queens for a day” throughout about fourty color and black and white wedding photographs by Manuel Meszarovits, artistic photojournalist working around the world, and last edition of Miss Universe China’s pictures, offering a real discovery of the glamourous universe of this beauty pageant.
Wedding, beauty pageant… Two sensitive visions to illustratea unique topic revealing women as a “Queen for a day” (literally and figuratively) in an emotional, sometimes poeticalway.

The exhibition « Queens for a day » unveils the new renovated spaces of the Alliance française of Shanghai – Wu Song lu and inaugurates a rich cultural season.
With an emphasis on photography, medium of expression and popular art, The Alliance française offers you to discover contemporary artists, both chinese and french-speaking.
This new exhibition program shows once again, in a dynamic way, the ambition of the Alliance française to share french culture, in link with chinese culture.

2 photographies selected and classified in the 30 favorites of the last CNP ( Canon Professional Network) editor’s choice from the thousands submitted by CNP readers in November 2011.
The editor: Renata Ferri, chief picture editor of Io Donna. As well as being the chief picture editor of Io Donna, Renata Ferri is also art director of the Atri in Motion annual projections, held during the ReportageAtriFestival. Ferri has been a jury member for many photographic awards and has edited several photographic books and written their introductions, the most recent being Stato d’Italia.
CPN Editor’s Choice began in 2009 and its goal is to bring together photographers of all types and the world’s best photo editors.
